Demo of Fiori running on the SAP Enterprise Portal

The release of the SAPUI5 architecture and the corresponding SAP Fiori applications has introduced a lot of excitement in to the SAP realm. The last time I recall there being this much excitement was the ‘enjoy SAP’ movement 10ish years ago.

The Fiori movement is much different than previous attempts since it doesn’t try to re-invent the wheel and create brand new technology to solve a problem that has already been solved by others. Fiori utilizes HTML5 architectures and uses them in the proper way so that any web developer can contribute.

One open question for SAP users was how does Fiori interact with their SAP Enterprise Portal installations. My response is that it works ‘perfectly’. Fiori applications are nothing more than web applications and there is no better platform than the SAP Enterprise Portal to run those applications.
